Red hair of the dark auburn kind is the first thing a room registers when Luna walks in. The second is that she does not seem to mind being looked at. She is twenty-two, 171 cm and curvy, brown-eyed, with a directness that makes small talk feel optional.
Independence is the point of her. Luna lives in Mayfair, plans her own weekends, books her own theatre seats and has no patience for evenings organised by committee. Bold, yes, but not brash: she listens as hard as she talks, and she enjoys a guest who holds a real opinion. Photography gives that attention somewhere to go; she carries a small film camera and shoots strangers' hands, shop windows and reflections in wine glasses. She speaks English in a low, confident voice.
Wine tasting is her favourite way to begin. Kensington Wine Rooms on Kensington Church Street lets you pour small measures from machines along the wall, and Luna treats it as a game: three whites, three reds, a vote at the end, loser chooses dinner. She rarely loses, and when she does she pays up with good grace and a better restaurant than the one you would have picked. A table near the high street is a few minutes on foot, and after it comes a taxi to your hotel, or to a play at the Coronet on Notting Hill Gate if the timing works.
She is booked most often around High Street Kensington and the hotels of W8, though any address in SW7 is an easy ride. Check the rates before you write, then send one message with the date and the hour you have in mind.
